Celanese Corporation is a global innovator in technology and specialized materials, developing and marketing high-performance engineered polymers worldwide. The company's operations are structured into three primary business units: Engineered Materials, Acetate Tow, and Acetyl Chain. The Engineered Materials segment crafts and supplies custom-engineered polymers vital for diverse applications, including automotive, healthcare, industrial products, and consumer electronics. This division also offers acesulfame potassium, an artificial sweetener used in beverages, confectionery, and dairy products, alongside food preservation components such as potassium sorbate and sorbic acid, which are incorporated into foods, drinks, and personal care items. The Acetate Tow division produces acetate tows and flakes, predominantly utilized in filtration systems. Finally, the Acetyl Chain segment manufactures a comprehensive range of acetyl chemicals, including acetic acid, vinyl acetate monomers, acetic anhydride, and acetate esters. These serve as fundamental building blocks for substances like colorants, paints, adhesives, coatings, and pharmaceuticals, and as organic solvents and intermediates for the pharmaceutical, agricultural, and chemical industries. Additionally, this segment produces vinyl acetate-based emulsions for paints, coatings, adhesives, construction, glass fiber, textiles, and paper, alongside ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) resins and compounds and low-density polyethylene (LDPE). These latter products are integral to flexible packaging films, lamination film products, hot melt adhesives, automotive parts, and carpeting. It also specializes in the production of ultra-high molecular weight polyethylene. Established in 1918, Celanese Corporation is headquartered in Irving, Texas.
